Welcome to Squared™.
These terms govern your use of the Squared™ platform as an athlete or participant. By creating a personal account, you agree to follow the rules outlined below.
1. Purpose of the Platform
Your personal account on Squared™ lets you:
- Register for upcoming events
- View and improve your ELO ranking
- Track your performance and results
- Receive updates about the sport and community
- Pay participation fees
Squared™ is available via our website and mobile app (iOS). Certain features may vary depending on your location and the event organiser.
2. Eligibility & Account Creation
- You must be 13 years or older (or meet the legal age in your country).
- If you’re under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
- You agree to provide accurate personal information (name, birthdate, etc.), especially for ranking and competition eligibility.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
3. ELO System & Rankings
- Squared™ provides an ELO-based ranking system for tracking competitive performance across ranked events and sessions.
- Your score is updated based on your results in officially tracked matches.
- Rankings may influence match seeding or qualification in certain events.
- Attempts to manipulate or falsify results may result in account suspension or reset.
4. Event Registration & Payments
- You can register for events directly within Squared™.
- Participation fees are set by event organisers and paid via the app or a third-party payment service.
- All purchases are final unless otherwise stated by the event organiser.
- Squared™ is not responsible for refunds, cancellations, or disputes between athletes and event organisers.
5. Notifications & Communication
By signing up, you agree to receive:
- Event updates and reminders
- Changes to match schedules
- News and resources related to the sport
- Promotions or ranked session invitations
You can manage your preferences or unsubscribe from marketing emails in your settings.
6. Conduct & Fair Play
You agree to:
- Compete fairly and with integrity
- Respect other players, organisers, and officials
- Avoid any form of cheating, harassment, or disruptive behaviour (online or in person)
If you break these rules, your ELO score may be reset, and your account suspended or banned from future events.
7. Data Privacy (GDPR)
We are fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and local privacy laws.
- Your personal data is securely stored and only used to support your activity on Squared™.
- You may request to access, correct, or delete your data at any time via contact@squared.events
8. Beta Disclaimer (if applicable)
You may be using features still in beta, which may be unstable or under development.
- We cannot guarantee perfect performance or accuracy.
- By participating, you acknowledge and accept these limitations.
9. Platform Ownership & Intellectual Property
- All content on the Squared™ platform is protected by copyright and intellectual property law.
- You may not copy, modify, or distribute the app or its contents without written permission.
Your ELO, stats, and participation history remain visible as long as your account is active.
10. Suspension & Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or delete your account if:
- You violate these GCU
- You attempt to exploit or reverse-engineer the app
- You engage in serious misconduct within the sport community
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll notify you via the app or email. Continued use of Squared™ implies acceptance of any updates.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of France. Disputes will be handled in the competent courts of Lyon, France.
